Please note that there are no car rentals on Koufonisia—one of the things that makes it so special! You can rent a bicycle if you like, but we recommend simply walking along the coast and soaking in the beauty of the island. By day, it’s all about the sea and nature. By night, let the stars guide your way.

Every hotel offers a free transfer service to and from the port, based on your ferry schedule.

The main village of Koufonisia, the Chora, is small but has the essentials—a pharmacy, a few bakeries, several restaurants, a mini market, and even a doctor with a small medical center. Still, we recommend bringing any personal or less common items you might need during your stay.

Koufonisia is truly small, a hidden gem in the Aegean Sea. There are only a handful of beaches—around 10 on Pano Koufonisi (the “main” island), and a few more on Kato Koufonisi, the uninhabited island just across, which you can reach only by taxi boat.

The sea in Koufonisia is a constant and vibrant presence, with its crystal-clear waters and golden sandy beaches. Whether you're swimming, exploring, or simply relaxing, the coastline offers breathtaking beauty at every turn. The color of the water is just unbelievable!

Please note that there are no beach facilities in Koufonisia!

Late September is one of the best times to enjoy Koufonisia. The weather is usually warm and pleasant—around 25°C during the day and slightly cooler and windy in the evenings. The sea is calm, perfect for swimming. Plus, the clear night skies are ideal for stargazing and spotting the Milky Way.

You know us—so you probably already guessed.

Some paths might be rocky or sandy, so if you’re thinking of wearing heels, go for something comfortable and stable—platforms could be a great option!

Though chances are… we’ll end up dancing barefoot on the beach anyway!
